The Long Awaited Music Video for the Lady Gaga Telephone Track Has Gathered a Huge 22,388,315 Hits since it Was Released Two Weeks
The long awaited music video for the Lady Gaga Telephone track has gathered a huge 22,388,315 hits since it was released 2 weeks back on March eleven.
It is so raunchy ( the full, explicit version is available on Gaga’s site ) that it sparked rumours it was banned on MTV.com. With Beyonce as her partner in crime, the nine-minute video is wild, provocative, explicitly vulgar and even creepy.
Meaning, it has all of the qualities which make Gaga ( actual name : Stefani Germanotta ) who she is. The video, directed by Swedish film and music-video director Jonas Akerlund, plays like a classic short film. It begins with the 23-year-old Gaga getting thrown in the slammer. There, she dons one or two mad outfits – there’s one where she wraps a yellow crime-scene tape round her, erm, urgent parts – kisses another female criminal, and dances in simply a studded bra, ripped leggings and underwear. She gets bailed out by a Pussy Wagon-driving Beyonce ( you may remember the vehicle, which director Quentin Tarantino lent Gaga for this video, from the Kill Bill flicks ), and goes on a homicidal rampage. Lady Gaga tops the single and album charts In what’s been a rollercoaster week for Lady Gaga, the star has got to the top of both the United Kingdom singles and album charts. Her last hit Phone climbed 4 places to become the eccentric star’s 4th UK hit single. In the meantime , the Celebrity made its way back to the apex of the album chart for the 3rd time. A delighted Gaga thanked her fans on Twitter, referring to Honey B, the character played by Beyonce in the debatable video to phone. ” Phone went one in the UK! + the album Celebrity Monster went one UK! We probably did it Honey B! Love + kisses to our fans. We couldnt do it without u,” she revealed. The success will be welcomed following a week that saw the star being sued by a previous partner and partner to the tune of over $30 million ( £19.8 million ). Lady Gaga comes to Britain for a collection of gigs later on, beginning at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham on May 27th.
